Yin and Yang for TrixiePrower

This drawing right here is a little Christmas gift for one of my good dA friends :icontrixie-prower: and is my interepretation of her two characters, Yuki and Ikuy, from her novel "Chuushin in the Mind." To get more detail you can read it here: [link]
This story of hers is one of my favorites so far and when I first read about these two characters I was immediately drawn to them and wanted to, well, draw them myself. *shot*
The one on the left is suppose to be Yuki who represents life in Trixie's story (no she's not a Soul Reaper from "Bleach") while Ikuy or death is on the left.
I gave Ikuy a white kimono because white is associated with mourning in many Asian cultures, and I had her kimono folded right over left, which is what is done for corpses before they're buried in Japanese culture.
I also gave them both a red thread around their waists to represent the red thread of fate.
I wish I could've made the background a lot better. I still like it don't get me wrong, but there's just something missing...
Two songs I listened to while I was coloring this were Jen Titus and Ralph Stanley's versions of "O Death."
Jen Titus's cover is probably the one y'all are more familiar with [link] but there's just something spooky about Ralph Stanley's cover [link] probably because its just vocals and no instruments.
